Situated at the meeting point of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers, The Forks has been a gathering place for over 6,000 years. This guided walking tour will take you through its rich past, highlighting key Indigenous stories and stopping at significant monuments along the way. You’ll also visit the Agowiidiwinan Centre—home to the Treaty Relations Commission of Manitoba—to gain insight into the significance and lasting impact of Indigenous treaties. The tour continues at The Forks Market, where you’ll have the opportunity to self-explore and experience all that this vibrant space has to offer. Here, you can also find unique Indigenous items, with boutiques featuring traditional and contemporary Indigenous artistry, including jewellery, moccasins, and more.

Heart of a Nation City Tour

Immerse yourself in hands-on cultural experiences, like the Inuit People of the North workshop, where you’ll gain insight into the artistry of Inuit craftsmanship while creating, shaping and polishing your very own soapstone pendant to take home. For those fascinated by the northern lights, the Explore the Aurora program offers photography tips to capture this breathtaking natural phenomenon, while uncovering the science behind the aurora borealis.

The Exchange District BIZ Historic Walking Tour

The Exchange District, a National Historic Site, is the backdrop for countless films, thanks to its extraordinary collection of heritage buildings constructed between 1880 and 1920. Known as the “Chicago of the North,” this compact 20-block area features massive stone and brick warehouses, elegant terracotta-clad buildings, narrow angled streets and charming cobblestone paths and alleyways.

On this guided tour, uncover the stories behind Newspaper Row, turn-of-the-century banks and the pivotal Winnipeg General Strike of 1919. Discover why filmmakers are drawn to this iconic neighborhood and meet the famous (and unsung) characters who helped shape Winnipeg into the city it is today.

Royal Canadian Mint Guided Tour

Assiniboine Park Zoo – Guided Tour of the Journey to Churchill Exhibit

Step into the wild beauty of the north at the award-winning Journey to Churchill exhibit, where you can witness polar bears, muskoxen, Arctic foxes, wolves and other northern species up close. It is the most comprehensive northern species exhibit of its kind in the world. Here, you’ll experience a stunning array of natural habitats and animal viewing areas, including the chance to see polar bears swimming above your head. Interactive displays and interpretive signage bring you face-to-face with pressing issues like biodiversity, climate change and conservation.

Inside the Aurora Borealis theatre, you’ll be transported into the magical world of the northern lights, swirling around you in a breathtaking 360-degree dome. The exhibit celebrates the rich culture of Indigenous and Inuit peoples, offering a deeper understanding of how wildlife and communities are intricately connected. The Zoo is also home to the Leatherdale International Polar Bear Conservation Centre, where cutting-edge research is helping ensure the survival of these magnificent creatures.

Oak Hammock Marsh – A Bird-in-the-Hand Experience

Be part of vital research by banding a live bird, learning firsthand why Oak Hammock Marsh—one of North America’s birding hotspots—is a key stop on its migration path. Afterward, venture into the thriving wetland by canoe, gliding through winding channels in search of wildlife. With more than 300 documented bird species—representing nearly half of all bird species found in Canada—this 36-square-kilometre marsh offers a serene yet vibrant habitat teeming with life.

The Forks – Where Our Stories Meet Parks Canada Tour

Located at the confluence of the Red and Assiniboine rivers, this site has been a gathering place for First Nations peoples for millennia. FortWhyte Alive – A Prairie Legacy: The Bison and its People Tour

Walk amongst giants at FortWhyte, a 660-acre nature reserve home to North America’s largest urban bison population. Your adventure begins as a guide leads you onto the open prairie, offering your first up-close view of these majestic creatures roaming freely in their natural habitat. Step back in time as you explore how the  Métis, voyageurs and pioneers lived alongside the bison, relying on them for survival. Thermea by Nordik-Spa Nature

Celebrated by locals and visitors alike, this Scandinavian spa nestled in nature brings new meaning to total relaxation. Featuring hot and cold pools, saunas and waterfalls, this tranquil retreat offers a serene escape no matter the season to recharge and reconnect with yourself.

Tour includes thermal experience and robe rental. Transportation leaves RBC at 8:30 a.m. and return from Thermea leaving at 11 a.m.

The Leaf Tour

Opened in December 2022, The Leaf is a world-class horticultural attraction at Assiniboine Park and home to Canada’s tallest indoor waterfall. Explore four distinct biomes; the Hartley and Heather Richardson Tropical Biome, the Mediterranean Biome, Babs Asper Display House and the Shirley Richardson Butterfly Garden. Outdoors, the 30-acre Gardens at The Leaf feature six unique gardens, including the Indigenous Peoples Garden, Kitchen Garden and Sensory Garden. Saint Boniface Walking Tour

Transportation leaves RBC for St Boniface at 11:50 a.m. and leaves St Boniface for RBC at 2:15 p.m.

Winnipeg Art Gallery - Qaumajuq

Magical Musical History Tour

Join Dave Pancoe, Placemaking and Sustainability Manager, for a guided walk through The Forks, where you’ll learn about the program’s goals and initiatives. Then, roll up your sleeves and contribute by sorting waste into compost, recycling and garbage, helping The Forks achieve its sustainability targets. This hands-on experience is a chance to actively give back to Winnipeg’s vibrant community.
